June 3rd, 2011
June 3, 2011

Perth County
- Tobacco kills over 5.4 million people each year around the world. That’s almost 15,000 people a day and one person every six seconds. May 31st was World No Tobacco Day and the members of THINK marked the day in Perth County by spreading this message in their schools, Stratford Central Secondary School, Stratford Northwestern Secondary School and Listowel District Secondary School.

THINK is a group of Perth County youth employed by the Perth District Health Unit to educate their peers about various health topics including tobacco.

Pictured above are members of THINK (left to right): Jane Zorgdrager, Stephanie Huitema, Josh Pinter, Makayla Nunn and Erin Iredale with one of the banners they created.
